Santa Monica the beachfront city of Los Angeles. Famous for its Pier and the Pacific Park and of course its beach, which stretches to Venice. Venice Beach with its Ocean Front Walk, a two-and-a-half-mile (4.0 km) pedestrian promenade that features performers, mystics, artists and vendors, mostly of tourist necessities in the form of t-shirts.
For sure everybody knows the movie recordings of the promenade between Santa Monica and Venice, with musculous people working out at the beach, scarcely dressed girls on roller skates or blades, artists trying to sell their products.
We walked the promenade from Santa Monica to Venice and back. We passed the so called muscle beach. A lot of rusty old machines, but no muscle.
On the promenade no scarcely dressed girls or boys on roller blades, must be the wrong season .
What we saw were a lot homeless people/drug addicts, who occured as artists. A rather desolate affair.
