01 February: Texas again

We left our spot at the Walmart parking lot heading for Texas. Following the old El Camino Real de los Tejas.
An old route out of the time that Mexico, Texas and a big part of Louisiana still were part of the Spanish Crown. The route connected Mexico City with the last Spanish outpost in Louisiana and from there through Natchitoches, the last French Outpost, with New Orleans.

It is a quiet route through the so called Piney Woods part of Texas, which is nice to drive, through vast forests of mostly pine trees and a few big lakes.

We ended our trip at the Martin Dies jr. State Park near the town of Jasper. After two days camping in the “wild” we have to dump our black and gray and take in fresh water.
