18 January: Oak

We checked the weather and we decided to leave the Bayou Segnette State Park. West again.
We took the LA 18. A nice quiet road which follows the Mississippi up north. It is a pity we couldn’t see the river itself because all the way the view is blocked by the dike between the road and river.
However it was a nice ride.

At the land side of the road several plantations are situated. The one more and an other less maintained.
We visited the Oak Alley Plantation, which is a National Historic Landmark. It is surely worth a visit.

At the end of the day we stayed at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center. We were late again, so we had no real choice, tonight it will freeze again.
Hopefully the last time for a while.
